I thought this year, this game would be different...but it wasn't. I thought this was the game where we would prove that we belonged, that our program had turned the corner...but it wasn't.  I thought after this game I'd be able to brag to everyone about MY team being the top 10 after a win at a top 20 team in the country...but I can't. I thought if nothing else, we'd be competitive...but we weren't.

I'm disappointed by the loss, but can live with it. Hell, they were a 5 point favorite. I just can't live with us laying an egg over and over again in games like this. There is no question our program has been elevated, but it pains me when I know we have the talent and desire to compete at this level...but don't. I hope this is an aberration and just a bump on the road as the program soars to new heights, but it certainly feels like this GW team is just like the ones in the past....getting blown out of games when they should be competitive.

I know I'm being harsh and NO i'm not jumping off the bandwagon. I'm just fired up that my team laid another egg. We can't say...oh, we're a young team...wait until they gel or get older. They've been there, they're veterans.

Again, I'm not pissed about the loss, I'm pissed about the terrible shot selection and lack of eecution. I know, I know...NC State has a great defense. I agree, they do and I epected some bad decisions but not a whole game full of them.

As I sit here watching the replay of the game, I see it even more. We forced so many bad shots and missed so many opportunities. That's what tonight was....ONE BIG MISSED OPPORTUNITY to show the world and ourselves that this GW isn't the same as the old GW...but it is.

Now let's focus on beating temple and proving that we won't have yet another January loosing streak.

Obviously this was a disappointing loss, but it should not be entirely unepected. As Karl said, N.C. St. is better than we are. Also the home court, the 12-day layoff, the fact that N.C. State had played twice in the last week and the fact that they were pumped up to play us are all factors in the size of the loss. Their style of play is also a factor. But look at other good teams that have taken big hits this year. Kentucky loses by 26 to Indiana (and then beats Loiusville by double digits). Teas loses by 31 to Duke and 18 to Tennessee. North Carolina loses by 15 to USC. Oklahoma loses in Oklahoma by 24 to West Virginia and Oklahoma St. loses by 19 to UAB. My guess is that all these teams will be in the dance. The bigger problem is the 0-5 night for the conference as stated by LF. This is looking like a two bid conference. I think the Temple game was always more important than N.C. State and now it is more important than ever.
