The women fell to 4-9 in the conference with a 63-51 loss to Richmond this afternoon at home. The Spiders are likely the tallest team GW has faced all season, with four players at 6'3" and another at 6'4". Add the fact that our 6'5" Sara Mostafa remains out and it was no surprise that the Colonials were outrebounded by 39-27.
Richmond was perfect on its first ten shots from the floor, running out to a quick 20-8 lead. They also did a solid job shutting down Danni Jackson (six points) and taking Brooke Wilson almost totally out of the game; she was scoreless and nowhere near the rebounder she has been lately. And game- leading GW scorer Tara Booker had 10 of her 14 points in the second half. The Colonials trailed by as many as 23 points at 54-31 before rallying to cut the lead to the final margin.
GW next travels to Temple and UMass before coming back foir its final home game Feb. 22 against LaSalle.
