 Hobbs was fired. While we seem to be moving in the right direction, looking back a year later it's painfully obvious how innapropriate the timing of the firing was. Coaches aren't fired in late April for performance reasons. Just look at the heat VTech is getting over the Greenberg decision.

There was nowhere near as much optimism at GW, even with Copes coming, as there is now looking forward to next year. Appropriate timing or not, the decision was made and few supporters of the program seem to be lamenting anything other than the timing. Fair treatment on selection day or not, Greenberg has simply not taken Va. Tech to the consistent NCAA appearances that they expected when he was hired.
