But has Jen won as many NCAA toruney games as I did. I don't think so! GW basketball is falling apart without me just like I predicted. That guy Nero really destroyed everything.

This is a particularly tough game for GW. Given their overall record, I don't have complaints about the seeding (I was hoping for a 13), but playing Ohio State in Columbus is brutal. When you look at some of the other seeds, you can see that GW is comparable to teams ranging from 6-10 (South Florida, Syracuse, South Dakota State, Dayton, etc) who they were competitive against this year. Ohio States loses this year were to really good teams (Louisville, Maryland, Duke, Iowa, Michigan, and USF).
Our common opponents were USF and Maryland. GW lost by 5 to USF at Smith Center, and Ohio State lost to them in Tampa by 19. GW lost to Maryland by 26 at MD, and Ohio State lost to them by 30 at MD. Ohio State beat Maryland for the Big 10 championship by 10.
Ohio State was 4th in the nation in scoring average at 85.1 points per game, and scored over 100 points six times this year. They have four players averaging double figures (led by Kelsey Mitchell at 24.5) and shoot 45% from the field as a team, and 35.3% on 3's.
GW ranked 43 in the country in defense, allowing 57.6 points a game. Brianna Cummings averages 14.3 and Kelli Prange 12.2 ppg respectively. GW shoots 38.6% from the field, 31.8% from 3.
On paper, things don't look so great, but the great thing about basketball is that nothing gets decided until after the players get out on the court. This is a classic offense versus defense game, so if GW can control the tempo of the game, they have a chance to be competitive. Regardless of the outcome, I love this team. They play with a lot of heart and exceeded most everyone's expectations.

I am not too thrilled about this matchup, either. Ohio St is clearly the bigger, faster, deeper team and will be at home. GW is playing with house money. Keeping turnovers low (as they did in the A10 tourney) and staying out of foul trouble will be the keys for GW.

Big homecourt advantage for OSU but at least they don't know much about the Colonials and are probably looking past us. Go GW!

Good luck to the women. Might as well have fun in this game, cause the odds are tough.

Bump (mostly because I'd rather talk about GW in The Dance than see more of those dumb name-calling threads about former GW employees).

Tough opponent it seems, still feel we're underseeded as a 14.

This game is really going to be Kelli Prange's chance to shine. Due to her injury, her role this season has not been as protagonistic as she may have deserved, but this is an opponent where her inside and outside contributions on offense are going to be vital and her presence on the defensive glass is what will make halting the Suckeyes possible. We know Bautista will handle the ball and distribute it expertly but, if Prange can find space (either down low or on the perimiter) too, then there is a real shot at an upset.

I know why the NCAA does it, but the women's tournament won't have any credibilty as long as they allow home games.
