I am excite. I had fun going a few years ago -- too bad it's kind of a hike for those of us with no auto.

Also in a totally dogcrap area, but sometimes one has to endure such indignities.

As of last Friday the Kenner league (Nike Pro City League) isn't listed on the list of sanctioned summer leagues.  http://ncaa.s3.amazonaws.com/files/bbcert/2015_Summer_Leagues_M.pdf

I'm wondering  if the construction of their new athletic facility adjacent to McDonough arena is going to impact the Kenner start date.

In recent years, the Kenner League has started on the first Saturday in July. Since the first Saturday this year is July 4th, it will probalby start on Sunday July 5th. Unfortunately, the NCAA changed the rules last year and only allows a summer league team to have just 2 players from a college team. With the transfers and freshman, there could've been a Kenner League team that featured 3 or 4 GW starters under the old rules.

Anyone looking for Kenner League information more than 20 minutes before the league is about to start is going to be disappointed, but if you must look your best place is the Ge**getown board.   Hopefully, our poster (was it BM?) who posts that amendable rosters will do so again this year.  And hopefully, GW will again have close to full participation.

Speaking of the goings on at the school up the street, they're apparantly looking for ideas for a new court design. They got some nice suggestions from their friends at Syracuse.  Syracuse and Georgetown fans war over court designs, hilarity ensues (PHOTOS) | CollegeBasketballTalk

Hey guys, I am actually in that wallpaper photo over this thread.  I am in the uppermost left side of the photo.  I am the person in the blue shirt who is one-half shilloetted by the side scoregboard.  The way my hair hangs lower on my right side just over my eye, kind of makes me look like Hitler, right.

Why is it always so poorly organized? It's not hard to set up a blog or Facebook page and post news on there.

squid,  it's the Kenner League is the only answer I can give you!! You can never be sure what's going to happen when you show up at McDonough Gym for Kenner League games!! But the emergence of social media has made it a lot easier to track what's going on because you now have players, fans, coaches and colleges tweeting about the Kenner League. Also, BM's amendable rosters site gets updated by several people each year. An official Kenner League twitter page was set up last year too, I'm assuming they will start posting information about this year's Kenner League in the coming weeks. Here's the link:

No matter which day it starts, that date became a week closer.

Marking off another week on my wall. The weather is also turning steamy hot, as well.

One more week--looking like just over 2 weeks away.

By: BC (1,645 posts) - 6/21/2015 12:53:48 PM

Happy first day of summer.  High forcast to be 82 with a humidity of around 50%.   That's hot for around here.   Next weekend will be around 100 though.  Still the humidity will be low.  The day I had my hearty attack after mowing my Falls Church lawn it was 97 with the humidity around 97 as well.   I don't miss that part of the DC area, but do miss most of the rest of the culture.   I will miss Kenner as well.   Hoping everyone reports on our GW players even more than last year.

BC, the feels like temp for DC hit 99. I think that they were about right.

It sucked. I do hope with my new "scheduling freedom" that I can hit a couple of games.

Per H*ya Saxa.com

"Just one week remaining until the July 9 debut of the Kenner League, a D.C. college basketball traditionsince 1981.

Rosters and schedules should be appearing online early next week for the games, which run from July 9 though August 9 at McDonough Gymnasium."

Finest Magazine's twitter posted the Kenner League teams and schedule for the upcoming week. Knowing the Kenner League the schedule and teams could be different by Thursday but this is all we have for now. A lot of the same teams are back(no Team Takeover) so there is a chance that the returning GW players will be on the same teams as last year, Garino & Cavanaugh on Oohhs & Aahhs, Cimino and Jorgenson on Clyde's, Swann, Larsen on DCX and Yuta on A.Wash Associates.

It's free!! The only time they ever charged was for the playoffs, but they stopped doing that years ago. If you drive, you may have to pay for parking on weekdays though.

When I posted the Kenner League schedule, I meant Larsen on DCX and Swan and Yuta on A.Wash Associates.

GW, THE FUTURE OF THE PROGRAM, AN ACCOUNTING AND A LOOK AHEAD

As a fairly new reader and poster of this esteemed board, its impossible to not detect an air of defeatism among some of the loyal and thoughtful writers. 1) Any highly successful coach will just .... 2) We can't ever land a legit top recruit 3)
