I want to thank herve for having established and kept this site running for so many years. Living far away from the DC area (and the FBI's jurisdictional authority), this site has served as a lifeline for my ties to my alma mater. And, of course, a fun place to exchange quips, whims and insight on the beloved Colonials.

I want to make my appreciation public now, because I fear we are very close to the plug justifiably being pulled on this site. I won't blame herve for sending gwhoops.com to follow in the path of webvan and kozmo, actually it behooves him not to given the behaviour here lately.

This site survived the Memphis fans, the Matt Albitron fans, the "hey, you suck!" debate and the visits by Russian spambots. Alas, a clique of supppsed GW fans will be its end.

Thanks herve, I still owe you a bottle of good rum for having put this site together.

Hope we continue for many more years, despite current difficulties.

And this site is the only place we have gotten any real GW basketball news in a turbulent time.

But none of us can ever thank Herve enough for putting this site up--and putting up with us.

Herve--please save GW Hoops--I depend on it for info and dare I say

camaraderie.Always fun to communicate, even through differences of

opinion.I hope you will start the registration as soon as you can.

Its a sad state of affairs that it has come to this--but it has.

I have kept my distance the past few days because I did not want to get involved, but I second the sentiment here. Thank you for all you do with this website. I hope it sticks around for a long time.

Just some food for thought...the type of person or people that have been attacking us the past few days feed off of reactions. If we ignore them, hopefully they will go away in a day or two.

Whatever Herve decides to do, I will support! Peace everyone.

Well said. Like GW Alum Abroad said, this site is a life line for us living many miles away. I've ignored a lot of the useless bantering recently on the site. I guess a lot of people have a lot of time on their hands. Since I am real close to retirement I may have a few more minutes to question some things. We owe Herve a lot.

Below is a useless rant after readind today's newspaper about our taxes going up here in NASHVILLE.

Alas, I may continue to work since so many people have come into Nashville lately. Property taxes are going up 61% in some areas around here with a min. of 37% increases in some bad areas. Nashville's hotel rates are now equal with New York City's.  What once was a small inexpensive sleepy southern city has changed. No subway and a 1960s road network means gridlock and long commutes in bumper to bumber traffic. Yep, the whole face of this city has changed and literally being demolished into 10' wide, 2 story skinny's and Music Row is 90% torn down. We look like any other homogenous US city now. Sterile.

GWAA, I just want to say that I feel somewhat offended by the Matt A. comment.  Seriously, I can project a bit on the herve cares side, that we are better off that you send herve Whiskey rather than sending words. You can send the liquor to me and I will make sure to get it to herve.
