Has GW ever recruited a player from Iowa?

Have we ever gotten a player from Iowa?

Different sites show a TON of schools recruiting him.

Can't find any tweets/articles actually linking us with him, but - shocker - he's a stretch four.

Not surprised that another offer was made. GW is offering a high number of quality players this year than in the past on the theory that they have up to  4 more spots to fill and they don't want to be scrambling at the end for lesser talent. To me, this is the most thorough and complete recruiting job done under the ML's tenure and it is likely going to pay huge dividends. These guys are hustling and leaving no stones unturned. The problem is that it is hard to say exactly who will fill those spots at this time although there are some guys apparently leaning GW but not yet committed. Expect the dominoes to start falling soon as live period is over. Exciting times for GW basketball.

@Bo - Results (i.e., signings) will tell if it's 'the most thorough and complete' recruiting job.  Let's wait a bit and see...

+1 Cpots.

Bo, "the most thorough and complete ML" recruiting job???

Not say The 2012 Class of Kevin Larsen, JoeMac, Pato Garino & Kethan Savage?  That one has already been surpassed by what, the 2016 class of Collin Smith & bunch of unsigned offers? What about 2014? That one looks pretty good too, granted many chapters yet to be written.

Eager to see the hyperbole when we actually sign a few more recruits this year!

Is there anything ML could ever do that would not immediately get your over the top praise Bo?

How about this offseason, of Kethan out, Mitola IN, and the unused scholarship #3? A little dissapointing? Maybe just slightly?

Of course you would miss the forest through the trees Dude. I am talking about sustained effort on the trail. I know firsthand ML and staff have been very active this year. I believe they recognize that this is a critical class to sustain the future. More effort usually brings more results that's what I am banking on. We are involved with more kids and better kids than we have been as a whole in several years. It was relatively easy to recruit that first group - the cupboard was very bare. No issues about playing time etc. Much harder now with guys like Yuta, Cavanaugh, Sina, Jorgensen, Roland etc. projected to be on the roster for 2016.

Phew! I'm sure before we all read Bo's last post "I believe they recognize that this is a critical class to sustain the future"  there was widespread concern here ML and Staff would fail to care about the class. Thankfully our insider informs us that "he believes they recognize that this is a critical class to sustain the future." He's not certain but believes to this to be true.

Its you who miss the point Bo, its insane to be issuing such glowing compliments about the 2016 recruiting efforts.  How about we sign the guys first?

The 2014 class from two years ago remains somewhat of a mystery.  We've signed one low profile recruit (out of 5 scholies) for 2016 yet you are already saying this is "the most thorough and complete recruiting job done." ???

I looked these numbers up last week, but according to Verbal Commits, we had 16 offers out for four open slots in 2016 (4 per slot).  Rhode Island had 30(!) offers for three spots (10 per slot).  Can argue with the actual numbers, but I think we're on the low end in terms of offers/slot.

BM, 2 obs do not make up a statisically reliable conclusion.  Do you know and idea what the median, average and standard deviations are for offers per slot?   Just curious and too lazy to see if those numbers are available.

I expected Old Prof to ask for supporting stats BC.  It's just a hunch, but since you asked, St Joes 18 open offers for two spots, Richmonfd 25 open offers for three spots, Temple 22 offers for six spots.Georgetown 11 for three spots, Mason, 28 for six spots and Maryland 16 for three spots.  Based on that very unscientific observation, we're still on the low side.

Just because Verbal Commits lists it, doesn't make it true. There could easily be "offers" listed to guys we haven't actually offered, and there could very easily be a lot of offers that Verbal Commits doesn't know about.   I wouldn't treat those numbers as gospel, and I wouldn't make comparisons to past years in terms of numbers of offers becaue that could be more about reporting than actual offers.

Keep up the great reporting of reporting BM, many of us are all eyes and ears about these things, much appreciated.

As for ML, let me join with Bo and state that 2015-16 is not only his finest recruiting efforts to date, its also the greatest overall coaching job of his career period.

BM, thanks for the research and counting, tallying, and charting. Look forward to catching up with you in a few months.

@CoachCarm: If you don't see an ast or a HC  at your game they are watching someone else.Ask them how many guys they are recruiting per spot. #facts #GW

BM, I really appreciate your effort, so I wasn't knocking your hard work.  Just curious about how the system works.   Temple, GT and GW are relatively low offers/spot, the rest of the schools you mentioned are significantly higher.   Wonder if there's any correlation there.
