Assuming we are in, and looking at the standings, it's hard to imagine we wouldn't be in given head to head performance, what is the latest on the  seeding? Just wanted to avoid X, which should be number 5  (against a 12 seed from the standings), but guess Saturday's games and head to head and the rest of the byzantine A-10 tiebreakers matter.

We are looking at a 10 or 11 seed (assuming Richmond holds on against Duquesne (they are up 16 at the half).

If Charlotte loses to St. Joe's,we are the 10 seed, if Charlotte wins we are the 11.

Now who we play is much more complicated: 

- 5 teams already have 10 wins (SLU, LSU, VCU, Butler).

-  UMASS has finished at 9-7.

- Xavier is 9-6, playing at Butler. If they lose, then UMASS and X would be tied for 6th at 9-7 and UMASS would be the 6 seed.  That would mean that if we are  the 10 seed, we play Xavier, if we are the 11 we play UMASS.

If Xavier beats Butler, then UMASS is the 7 seed and we probably play them.  If we are the 11 seed, we would play Temple in that scenario because I believe Temple, X and Butler would all be 10-6 and Temple loses the the-break.

So basically, we are playing xavier, UMASS and Temple.  Personally, I'd love a revenge game with Temple since we were robbed against them. But whoever it is, our guys should be playing loose and having fun.

Given that Richmond will beat Duquesne, it looks to me like we'll be either the 10 or 11 seed.

I'm guessing that puts us against Xavier, UMass or St. Joe's. But a Butler loss or a Temple loss could throw that into flux. We just won't know until later tonight (or maybe even tomorrow).

Either way- GW has improved by every metric this year.  They have a better overall record.  They have a better A-10 record.  They finished higher in the standings than last year.  It looks like their RPI will be better than last year and the year before (without the Dayton W, GW was 140), in 2010 they were 139.  They had a better OOC record than last year.

This team is improving.  This team also has a chance to win a tourney game this year, which would certainly be improvement.  Here's hoping.  I never thought I would say this- but I really hope Bynes can play again!

 Still not understanding. If Charlotte loses, that would put 4 teams at 7-9 (GW, Charlotte, Dayton and Bonnies).  Our record against those other 3 teams is 3-0.  Wouldn't that make us a 9 seed?

 Lsf, if four teams finish 7-9 one of them would miss the tourney (in your case, Charlotte would lose the tie break and miss the tourney). 

Right now, st joe leads Charlotte 19-18 at the half.   What a game to watch that must be.  For what it's worth, st joe is 2-5 on the road in the league with the only wins being Fordham and Duquesne. 

Butler up 2 on X with 15 to go. 

LSF, 1 of those teams will be the #13 seed, otherwise known as the odd man out.  The others are 10, 11 and 12.

 Of course.  Forgot that one of the 7-9 teams would not make it.   What a shame...to win 7 games in a very good A-10 and not make your conference tournament.   So, with the Richmond win (which takes them out of the tie break equation), I assume that since we are undefeated against the tteams we are tied with, we are definitely in?  There is no crazy scenerio that we are 13th, is there?

 With Butler beating X, U.Mass is the #5 seed.  Xavier is now either the 6 seed (if Charlotte wins) or the 7 (if St. Joe's wins).  This is going to be a weird bracket.

 GW vs. Xavier -- 9pm? Is that correct as far as we can tell? Once I know that we're the 11 seed and playing at 9pm Thursday I'll buy tix! How do we make sure we're in the "GW" section? I'm sure it won't be sold out, so not terribly worried.

Looks like we have UMass in the 6-11 matchup. 

Andrew, that's not correct. UMASS and Xavier tied for the 6 seed at 9-7, but UMASS won head to head, so UMASS is 6 and Xavier is 7.

Charlotte beat St. Joe's so we are the 11 seed playing UMASS in the Thursday late game (around 9:00, I think).

 Scratch that - UNCC is 8-8 we are the 11th playing the late game in Barclays - that's great for all alumni in nyc area 

Charlotte has 8 wins so we don't get into tie breaks with them.  Three 7-9 teams for the last two spots.  SBU is 13th because they are 0-2 against us and Dayton.  Dayton is the 12 because they went 1-1, and we are the 11 because we went 2-0. 

UMass and X are the two 9-7 teams in the #6 and #7 spot.  UMass gets the #6 seed because they beat X.  

We play UMass in the 6-11 game.

 If temple wins, they are the three and Butler is the 5 (LSU 4).  That would be ideal. 

But UMASS is playing much better than when we beat them so tough game first. 

 For me, GW playing the last game of the day is perfect.  Get to enjoy 3 other games prior to GW.

 FQ -- Temple lost to Butler and beat La Salle; Butler beat Temple and lost to LaSalle, and La Salle beat Butler but lost to Temple.  Why would T get the #3 seed?

Glad our coaches have thenset opponent to start scouting. We played UMass right after it lost Morgan; it has adjusted.

 Andrew - next tie break is record vs the #1 seed.  Temple beat SLU so they get the three, LSU went 0-1 and Butler 0-2 against them so butler is 5. (Which I find absurd to penalize butler for having to play the one seed twice). 

Lsf, I can't go.   Kids performances Thurs and Fri night.   Glad we are in the 9 game so I can probably watch live or minimal delay.
