I hope that it is not too early to ask about the parking situation before GW basketball games.  I know that the major garage was torn down for an academic building.  A GWU employee said that the situaiton is bad enough that some employees have to park in Rosslyn and take Metro over to the school.  But that is during the day. How is it expected to be at night and is the athletic department working on solutions to get us happily to the games?

Last year for every game we parked at the garage which you exit near District Commons restaurant on the circle and NEVER once had a problem.

This year, GW fans park at Fort Myer, and take a (free)  bus from there to the Smith Center. It's just another stop on the nostalgia tour. A nice one, in my opinion.

Last season, I parked below Rome Hall at the Academic Center - no game discount and the folks working there seemed to have no communication with Athletic Dept. 

On the few times I drove instead of taking Metro, I usually found parking on the street and never got a ticket.

If GW would make an arrangement on police to allow parking for longer than 2 hours on game nights within 5 blocks of the Smith Center, all would be fine.   Maybe they can't make an arrangement, but the fact that you can't park on the street anymore for the duration of a game wihtout risking a ticket is a problem ever since they made the meters go until 10PM or so.

Pardon and Old Fart question, but I've never heard of District Commons restaurant.  Is it on the southwest part of Washington Circle, about where the old GWU Hospital was, and roughly across 23rd from the current hospital?

Yes, that's where District Commons is. The entrance to the garage is on 22nd street between the circle and I street. 

I can't make the season ticket event on campus and I haven't received my tix in the mail yet - does anyone know if the Athletics Office is giving season ticket holders any consideration about parking?

If you can't make tonight's event with its food and ticket distribution,  you can pick up your tickets at the Catholic University exhibition on November 3.

I think they are mailing them (maybe have done so). I received an email indicating as much even though I'm likely going by to pick them up this evening.
