 I can understand why Brook Wison needed a medical hardship waiver to receive a 6th year of eligibility, because a scholarship athlete ordinarily has only 5 years from the date of his or hers enrollment to compete for 4years. This rule allows sitting out i year for injury or transfer. So why did the other 3 players need a medical hardhip waiver since they were only going into the fifth year of eligiblity? My belief was if you graduated after 4 years and had the one year of eligibility left  you could enter graduate school and compete that fitth year as a matter of course.      

Brooke's planned return provides the much-needed interior presence depth GW needed until JJ is eligible after the first semester. Not sure how Coach Tsipis is going to find playing time for all of his guards but Wilson's return shores up that rebounding area of concern.

 You only get the year of eligibility left by virtue of receiving that redshirt approval from the NCAA. Jackson, Shipp, and Nipe all had seasons cut short by injury. Absent the NCAA approval, they would have already competed and completed their 4 years of eligibility.
