Not sure where to post this. Lunardi's way too early bracketology. Means nothing I know, but fun to look at nevertheless.

Defending our NIT title?

Gdubalum034/9/2016 8:50:21 AM

seems pretty accurate. Can't imagine us not playing in the losers bracket again.

GW Alum Abroad4/9/2016 9:58:22 AM

F#$@ing ML and senior not making the NCAA's, again! Obviously it is due to poor recruiting/coaching/lack of heart from the players/crummy fan support/etc...

The MV4/9/2016 10:47:36 AM

Anyone who consistently refers to the NIT as the losers bracket really should have been around during the days when the NIT would have been considered a pipe dream.  Spoiled ungrateful fans at GW?  Who could have guessed?

MLNLAW4/9/2016 10:55:57 AM

Self-entitled brats MV - we had to walk a mile in the snow....

The MV4/9/2016 12:21:51 PM

No, it's not that.  It's winning the NIT Championship, recognizing the accomplishment that this was, and still referring to it as the losers bracket. That's disrespect at any age or in any era.

GW Alum Abroad4/9/2016 12:22:45 PM

Dang MLNLAW, I had to walk THREE MILES in the snow! Now, get off my lawn!

ziik4/9/2016 3:05:13 PM

Did you snow walkers have boots?

dmvpiranha4/9/2016 3:56:49 PM

Didn't mean to start any arguments. Definitely not ungrateful about an NIT bid. Just glad that we were considered as being up there with other teams given the number of departures this offseason.

The MV4/9/2016 5:08:19 PM

Not you at all dmvpiranha.

ELJ4/9/2016 5:10:16 PM

The real question isn't whether you had boots; it's weather you had feet.

Whatever you want to call it, it's simply not the goal. We've been told we want to 'Raise High' and 'compete at the highest level' and everything else that's been said. But the fact is, we're not. The highest level is the NCAA tournament and we simply failed at that in a year when we had the talent to get there. So, Whether it's referred to as a losers bracket or Not Invited Tournament or consolation bracket or whatever, point is we want to be where VCU is. And Dayton is. And St Joe's is.  Etc etc. Ending up in the NIT is what it is: a consolation prize. We can and should do better.

If this bracketology has us as the 2nd four out, you can read that as however you want...my reading is that we just lost Garino, Larsen and JoeMac and are still knocking on the door.   Pretty impressive in my opinion.  To the poster above, I hear you about being where VCU and Dayton is, but St. Joes?   I think our program is pretty comparable to St. Joes and has been for the past 25 years.
