GW opens at -4.5 vs. Sienna, line is now -3.  Don't know if I would be betting on GW in any of the early season games.

So, LSF are you rich?

just returned from Vegas - won on college football, lost in the NFL games. I really studied the spreads. The points are really only set to reflect the sweet spot for the house to pay both sides of the bet and collect the vig. It's not a good measure of predicting outcome. However, 3 points at home usually means it's about a pick em on an neutral court (I think it currently is about 3.7 or so with some saying as high as 8 for home court). Given what I've seen - that's pretty generous. With that said, betting on college hoops this time of year is not much different than going to the roulette wheel and choosing red or black.

I could have been rich, BC, but unfortunately I am too god damn ethical to bet against GW.

We will cover. No doubt in my mind. Did we look great last game or in our exhibition? No. But something that every single new coach struggles with is getting the team not to play down to their competition. We will elevate our game as the competition elevates. I believe we will win this one handidly. The season could have started worse, look at Uconn.

Stay away from this game, bettingwise.  Patsos brought a less talented Loyola team into DC several years ago and won that game practically wire to wire.  In someone's rankings of all 351 schools, we were 1 spot ahead of Siena.  And, I haven't even mentioned Siena's history of playing at Smith Center.  This should be a tough, hard fought game with plenty of motivation involved on both sides.

Or wait until the pregame warmups before laying your bet. If the ref has large breasts, you know how to bet...

Or if the ref has a halo ...

I would listen to the MV, he knows a few things about point shaving

The MV11/15/2016 10:29:54 PM

He also knew enough to buy a point, winning with GW -1.  So go back to playing with yourself CCNY.

CCNY11/15/2016 10:54:24 PM

It was a compliment, just thought a guy like the MV who accused GW of point shaving would be someone to listen closely to when placing bets.

And yet another new poster who knew of things on the board from years ago.   We must have a lot of lurkers who have recently decided to become participants.

Interesting comment by CCNY on point-shaving.  The old crocs among us well remember the real CCNY point-shaving scandal that cost them both the NCAA and NIT championships in 1950.

We sure do ELJ.  We sure do
