For those in Buff & Blue club you know him.  He jsut sent an email that he is leaving for Lousiana Monroe.

Too bad, he may have had a great opportunity open up right here in the next few weeks.

What is going on with our athletic department? Several employee's have now left the athletic dept in the past year (with a current lawsuit pending by one). Are they leaving because they aren't being given enough responsibility (playing time)? Is it because the AD is bullying them or berating them into doing their jobs better? Losing employee's to Loisiana Monroe say's a lot about GW's ability to recruit and keep good employee's (players).

Why isn't Kilgore on this breaking news?

thinker8/31/2016 12:13:55 AM

This terrible news. I think it is unlikely that any self-respecting 3 1/2 star recruit will come to GW now that Farmer is leaving.

Steve is a great guy and did a fantastic job for GW.

Keith Greene8/31/2016 7:03:09 AM

It sounds like a great opportunity for him on his path/goal to become an AD.  He will be missed, but I wish him all the best!

GWAlum48/31/2016 8:14:54 PM

I will miss Steve, but Dan Rocha is my all time favorite.

Skittles8/31/2016 10:53:36 PM

Farmer left GW because of the toxic environment under Nero. You don't leave GW for Louisiana-Monroe unless things are really bad. Another senior staff member is interviewing at another school this week. They join the long list of good people who have left GW because of Emperor Nero. That list includes Mary Jo Warner, Karen Ercole, Chris Boyer, Brian Hamluk, and Jason Wilson. The list continues to grow. These are facts and not opinions.

New Guy9/1/2016 12:37:17 PM

Skittles - spot on! Also Scarlett Schmidt left and she is considered one of the best athletics fundraisers in the country. He is horrible to work for.

Since '999/1/2016 12:39:21 PM

or maybe thats where he is from, was on a development track at GW and wanted more of an actual AD track, and maybe we are just reading into this

BC9/1/2016 12:49:26 PM

Old old is Mary Jo Warner?   Are you sure she just didn't decide to retire?

Bo Knows9/1/2016 1:00:50 PM

BC, not exactly sure in the case of Mary Jo Warner but Karen Ercole and Jason Wilson were HUGE losses to the Department by almost all accounts.

Wondering how 2 months ago there was not a single negative word or hint about Nero on this board, quite the opposite actually.

The ML story breaks, and suddenly there's a concerted effort by someone/s to make him into Pol Pot.    Hmmmmmm.

Bballfan9/1/2016 1:36:05 PM

Many have been watching this happen for years - starting with Mary Jo, but no one felt the need to go to the Post and anonymously report on it.  Just hoping the University would grow a pair and deal with it

BACCAS929/1/2016 2:32:49 PM

Tru Dat Dude.

Mentzinger9/1/2016 2:42:53 PM

You don't leave GW for ULM? What if it's to take a higher position, get more pay, move closer to family or be part of some kind of rebuilding?

The Dude9/1/2016 3:23:49 PM

Yep BACCAS.  To Mentz's point, let me give you an example of a buddy's career I've referenced here a few times:

Job #1 St Johns' AD Staff Assistant/ AD Communications coordinator

Job #2 American Univ, Assistant Director of Communications

Job #3 Catholic Univ, Assistant AD

The path "UP" is very frequently "down" in this industry as his career arc illustrates.

Again, where is "Nero the Horrible" narrative coming from? Seems invented.

96.231.213.649/1/2016 3:27:56 PM

The stuff about Nero is 100% invented. He is very well liked and well regarded in the GW athletic community.

209.36.208.2269/1/2016 4:34:42 PM

Dude, stop posting under my name. If you continue, don't be such a dumb ass and do it immediately after your posts using the name Dud.

The transfer epidemic in college hoops will continue and get worse. The average in D-1 top 100 programs is quickly approaching 4 per year. The reasons vary and are as many as Dude has career's. GW is not immune to this now that they are consistantly a top 100 program (which has only happened in the last 3 years).

However, athletic dept's are not the same. Something has been happening with our athletic dept for the last several years and we are now seeing the consequences. The school has been aware and must now deal with it because of other issues that have brought it to light.

Dude has been the only one here blowing sunshine up PN's ass and giving him credit for the resurrection of basketball and a few other sports. The rest of us have given credit to where it belongs - the Board of Trustee's and the 5 year plan they outlined 5 years ago and the individual sport coaching staff and student athletes. The AD is tasked to execute the plan.

Dud, get a clue. I will continue to call your dumb ass out every opportunity I get.

96.231.213.649/1/2016 4:56:41 PM

The difference between the transfer epidemic at GW in the last few years and other schools is that most transfers from GW were not leaving for more playing time. They left because of Lonergan. I'm not saying all, but most. I would certainly think this (and many, many other things) has been conveyed to the investigating committee.

The Dude9/1/2016 5:08:40 PM

First, I post only under my name.

2nd, Poster is not a name.

3rd, there are many people here using "Poster" I'm not one of them.

4th, what I typed here are just facts, not disputable, and endless dumb ad hominem is even worse way to address facts.

5th, Nero had been widely praised by virtually every regular poster here, rightfully so. Suddenly he's a mad man destorying everything.  Yeah right.

209.36.208.2269/1/2016 6:41:57 PM

6th, nobody cares
