This past Wednesday, the Athletic Department posted the announcement naming Mojo as interim coach. There were many replies that were critical of the program for the dismissal of Mike Lonergan. Although some of the comments may have been snide and inappropriate, others were not. When I returned to Facebook a few minutes ago, all of the critical comments were gone and only the positive comments remained. Welcome to North Korea.

GW must have given ML the job of WebMaster for the facebook page.

LSF you are beginning to grasp just one aspect of the problem here.

Fortunately, those of us with a GWU education have been taught to think for ourselves and in an example like this one, navigate right through the bullshit.

North Korea? Really? Maybe more like Great Britain but nothing close to North Korea. If you were in North Korea, you would have been shot soon after your critical comments were discovered on Facebook and before you had a chance to complain about being censored. You're still typing so this isn't North Korea.

Maybe he meant East Korea
Bo Knows9/30/2016 3:18:07 PM
Actally MC if this was North Korea you wouldn't be typing on facebook since there is no internet except for loyal elites.
North Korea aside why is GW deleting comments unless they are offensive or inappropriate?

I think GW is tired of the same old guy, posting over and agin. A lot of us are.

Perhaps North Korea was a bit of a stretch. Lets say Iran. (But I am not firing my food taster yet).

I'm thinking 20 years hard labor camp in North Korea.
Probably a public flogging in Iran.

Playing devil's advocate to my own post...I can understand why GW would delete the negative posts. The only reason they are on facebook is to market the program. If there are a number of critical comments, that does not advance their goal.

LSF, I bet that's it exactly. Facebook isn't a democracy and that page is the official university way to get news out there. If it was the Unofficial GW Basketball Fan Facebook Discussion Group or something then I'd be annoyed. Considering it's official, I'm not. It makes sense.

Completely a non-issue. It's Facebook, not the Alien and Sedition Acts.
